Fabric
Suggested Farbic
Good quality knit fabric including polyester, nylon, rayon, cotton, wool, blends.
Cardi – mid weight ponte, double knit, sweater knit, french terry, sweatshirt fleece, novelties. The single layer front “cascades”, to show the wrong side of the fabric.
Blazer - perfect for ponte, but many mid weight knit fabrics (listed above) will work as well.
SMART TIPS:
To avoid pilling, choose a ponte knit with nylon/rayon/spandex, as well as ponte with wool blends or poly/spandex.
Stretch the fabric to make sure it snaps back to the original length. If it doesn't, don't use it! Check out Pamela's Patterns Stretch Ruler.
Knit fabrics, especially ponte or double knits, can shrink several inches per yard. We suggest pre-washing/drying fabric.
Fabric Required:
Cardi - 2 yds of 60" wide fabric
Blazer - 2 1⁄2 yds of 60" wide fabric
add 1⁄4 yd more for size XL or for narrower yardage
